Refund & Payment Policy

This Refund & Payment Policy (“Policy”) applies to all payments made to or through [Company Name] for use of the [Platform/Website/App]. It forms part of and is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service.
1) Definitions
- Platform: The [Company Name] website/app and related services.
- Plan: Any paid membership, subscription, or package.
- One-Time Purchase: A non-recurring purchase (e.g., profile boosts, promoted listings, add-ons).
- Verification Fee: A non-refundable fee for optional or mandated age/identity verification processed by a third-party.
- Billing Cycle: The subscription period (e.g., monthly/quarterly/annual).
2) Pricing, Taxes & Currency
2.1. All prices are shown exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. VAT/GST/sales taxes may be added based on your billing address and applicable law.
2.2. Charges may be processed in USD or another supported currency. Your bank may apply foreign exchange or cross-border fees; these are non-refundable.
2.3. If you provide a valid business tax ID in supported regions, reverse-charge or zero-rating may apply where permitted by law.
3) Payment Methods & Processing
3.1. We accept major cards and other methods made available via our payment processors (e.g., Stripe/PayPal).
3.2. By submitting a payment method, you authorize us and our processors to charge all fees due for your account, including taxes, renewals, and unpaid amounts.
3.3. If a payment attempt fails, we may retry and/or place your account in a grace period. Continued failure may result in downgrade, suspension, or termination.
4) Subscriptions, Trials & Auto-Renewal (Global ARL Compliance)
4.1. Clear renewal terms: All subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each Billing Cycle at the then-current price, unless canceled in accordance with this Policy.
4.2. Disclosure & consent: At checkout, we display the price, frequency, and that the subscription auto-renews until canceled. By completing checkout, you agree to auto-renewal.
4.3. Trials/intro offers: If you start with a trial or intro price, billing converts to the standard price at trial end unless you cancel before the renewal date/time shown at checkout and in your account.
4.4. Easy cancellation: You can cancel anytime via Account → Billing/Membership or by contacting [Support Email]. Region-specific rights to simple/online cancellation are honored (e.g., US/California ARL, UK/CMA guidance, EU UCPD).
4.5. Effective date of cancellation: Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current Billing Cycle. Access continues until then. We do not provide pro-rated refunds unless required by law.
5) One-Time Purchases & Non-Recurring Items
5.1. One-Time Purchases (e.g., boosts, promoted listings, add-ons) are delivered immediately and are non-refundable once delivered, except where a mandatory right applies.
5.2. Expiration/usage rules for One-Time Purchases are shown at checkout or in product descriptions.
6) Verification Fees (Optional or Mandated)
6.1. Verification Fees are non-refundable once the verification process has started, whether the outcome is pass or fail, except in cases of proven unauthorized payment.
6.2. Verification is performed by a third-party provider. We typically retain only the verification status; the provider may retain data as required by law. See our Age & Identity Verification Policy and Privacy Policy.
7) Refunds (Global Consumer Law)
7.1. General Rule (Non-EU/UK)
Except as required by law or expressly stated otherwise, payments are non-refundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partial Billing Cycles, unused time, or partially used services.
7.2. EU/EEA & UK 14-Day Withdrawal (Cooling-Off) for Digital Services
(a) Consumers in the EU/EEA and UK generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from distance contracts.
(b) Immediate performance waiver: Because our services are digital and may be performed immediately after purchase, at checkout we ask you to expressly request immediate access and acknowledge you lose your withdrawal right once performance begins.
(c) If you do not consent to immediate performance and do not access the service within 14 days, you may withdraw and receive a refund. If you access the service within that period after consenting to immediate performance, no refund is due.
(d) This section does not limit any non-excludable rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (UK) or applicable EU directives (CRD/UCPD).
7.3. Australia & Other Regions with Non-Excludable Guarantees
Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantees or mandatory rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or similar laws. Where a mandatory remedy applies, we will comply with that remedy.
8) Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
8.1. If you believe a charge is incorrect or unauthorized, contact [Support Email] within 30 days of the charge and we’ll investigate.
8.2. Friendly fraud (improper chargebacks) is prohibited. We may suspend/terminate accounts that initiate chargebacks without first contacting support, and we may recover amounts, processor fees, and costs arising from abusive disputes.
8.3. If a chargeback is resolved in our favor, we may reinstate the charge and restrict the account until the balance is paid.
9) Price Changes & Notifications
9.1. We may change prices for subscriptions and One-Time Purchases. For active subscriptions, we will provide advance notice (e.g., 30 days) by email or in-app.
9.2. Continued use after the effective date of the price change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, cancel before the next renewal.
10) Promotions, Coupons & Gifted Access
10.1. Promotional offers, coupons, referral credits, and gifted access (including “lifetime” or time-limited passes) are non-transferable, have no cash value, and are subject to the terms stated in the promotion.
10.2. We may modify or withdraw promotions as permitted by law. Abuse of promotions may result in cancellation and/or account action.
11) Third-Party Marketplaces & App Stores
11.1. If you purchase through a third-party marketplace/app store (e.g., Apple App Store, Google Play), their payment terms and refund policies apply. We cannot process refunds for purchases made through third parties.
11.2. For refunds or billing questions on marketplace purchases, contact the marketplace directly.
12) Invoices, Receipts & Records
12.1. Receipts are emailed to the address on file. You can access invoices via Account → Billing/Membership where available.
12.2. We may require additional information for compliance, tax, or anti-fraud purposes.
13) Service Availability & Credits
13.1. We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Temporary downtime does not entitle you to refunds unless required by law.
13.2. In our discretion, we may issue account credits as a courtesy; credits are not cash and may expire.
14) How to Cancel or Request Help
14.1. Cancel Subscription: Go to Account → Billing/Membership → Cancel (or the equivalent page), or email [Support Email] from your registered email address with the subject “Cancel Subscription.”
14.2. Refund Question: Email [Support Email] with your order ID, date, amount, and reason.

15) Region-Specific Compliance Notice
This Policy is designed to comply with major consumer and auto-renewal laws globally (including EU/EEA CRD, UK CRA/CMA guidance, US FTC/State ARL incl. California, Australia ACL, Singapore CPFTA, Philippines Consumer Act). Where a conflict exists, the stricter mandatory rule applicable to you will apply.
16) No Waiver of Mandatory Rights
Nothing in this Policy limits statutory rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect.

18) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in law, pricing, or our services. We will provide notice of material changes, and the “Effective Date” will be updated. Continued use of the Platform after notice constitutes acceptance.
